NOLAGrrlNYC: I wonder what this trip will inspire →
nolagrrlnyc:
Heading to the Outer Banks tomorrow. Weather forecast keeps filling up with scattered stuff but who knows. And frankly who cares. I’m not a beach bunny. Water temps are way too low at this point for much splashing about. But I get to share a new locale with the romantical one.
There’s…
Squee. …a deep, hearty yet impassive masculine squee, of course.
RIP Donna Summer
I think I’m starting to feel like my mom did when she lamented, I think it was back when Elvis died, that all the celebs she grew up with were passing away, and it made her feel old. :-P
Yuch...
I hate biting into a mealy apple!

My girl tells me that when she calls me
…I answer the phone with all the exuberance and excitement a dog shows when you come home at the end of the day.
That sounds about right to me. :)
Bark
Jump up
Lick face
Hump leg
Repeat
I think the world would be a better place
…if people criticized the opinions, beliefs and practices of others less often and, when they feel compelled to do so, do it with tact and tolerance, and only after first doing an honest and thorough reassessment of their own opinions, beliefs and practices.
At no time did I see Fox News' lips move
…but I won’t be impressed until I see them do it while drinking a glass of water.
This is an excerpt from a conversation I had with my mom while driving back from her doctor visit. Slightly altered for comic effect, but not as much as I wish it was.
Me: Wow, a lot of houses for sale around here.
Mom: I know. Obama really ruined the housing market.
Me: That’s not fair, ma. It...

I’m participating again this year in the Wall Street Run and Heart Walk and I have a request — take a friend for a walk. It’s a great way to get some exercise and strengthen your heart. It’s also a great way to spend time with your friends which has heart healthy benefits of its own.
And if you’d like to donate I’ll send you a personal thank you note as well as a couple of blank...

Q & A
Q: What’s worse than having to ride a packed bus, standing, all the way home?
A: Standing next to a loud, obnoxious, crazy person singing “I touch myself” at the top of his lungs for most of the trip.
Oy.

Diet Diary - Day 11
Had two big yummy donuts from Dough in Brooklyn. But I worked them off with a long walk from there to (and through) Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospect Park.
And a lovely day it was.

When I'm not one myself, I work with 12 year olds.
Coworker: You had some of the chocolate cake.
Me: You can’t prove that.
Coworker: Yes I can. I can see it on the corners of your mouth.
Me: That’s not cake! I’ve been good!
Coworker: Well I guess you’ve been eating poo then.
Me: Eww… You’re gross!
Coworker: Me? You’re the one who eats poo.

Diet Diary - Day 9
I don’t think I could fly anywhere while on this diet. I’m eating too many fruits and veggies and… well, I think people are already on edge enough, as it is, regarding ‘underwear bombs’. That would be an embarrassing way to make the news.

Spiritual Naturalist Society →
A friend of mine, whose spiritual views are almost lockstep with my own, has launched his own organization about our common belief system. He has been writing for years on the subject and has quite a following, not just me. He’s an artist and web designer by trade, so he was able to create a nice website for it.
People like he and I prefer to put a positive spin on our...

Freedom isn't free
Freedom isn’t free. Quite true, but many think this means only vigilance against external threats to it. That’s the easy part. The highest cost of freedom, the most difficult to swallow, is vigilance against internal threats to it that often spread, unseen like a cancer, within societies. The hardest cost of freedom is to share it fully and fairly with everyone, including others...

It is raining.
It always rains on cardboard recycling night.
Therefore, it is cardboard recycling night.

Diet Diary - Day 7
My belly must be getting smaller! Today I was able to read the numbers on the scale directly, without the help of a mirror. Progress! Maybe someday I’ll be able to see my penis again. Dare to dream…

Just went for a midnight sprint
It was supposed to be my standard jog/plod/walk, but I got a late start and was kinda pissed that I’d be out past midnight but too stubborn to skip it, so I broke into a full sprint (which for me probably equals an average runner’s normal gait). I ended up going half as far as usual, but twice as fast. I feel a lot more tired/winded now than after my usual slower, longer plodding, so I...

Note to Self
When cleaning their tank, do not try to cuddle your goldfish.
They don’t like it.

Diet Diary - Day 6
I think this constant “dieter’s dry mouth” is giving me bad breath. My neighbor’s poo-eating pit-bull just offered me a Tic Tac.

May the 4th be with you! →
A post from a friend’s blog I thought was interesting. A couple days late. Sorry, I am.
